On this page we will be posting the
minutes from all our monthly meetings. Just click on the date to see the minutes
for that month.
Pat Mullarky called the May 20, 2008 meeting to order at 8-HI
club in Goodman at 7:00PM. There were 18 present at the meeting.
Pat welcomed our four new members to the meeting. Pat then gave the floor to Jim
LaChapell the supervisor from the town of Goodman board. He spoke on the passage
of opening the town roads to ATV and LUV (light utility vehicles in which 2
people can sit side by side) machines. He asked that the club assist the town in
providing signage and help in posting speed limits on the routes in the Town of
Goodman. This is going to be a trial in the town to see if things will work out
and a limited number of problems will happen. This will be reviewed by the board
in September 2008.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
The Treasures’ report was read and was accepted.
Under Officers reports Orv Langohr mentioned that Senator Breske will be leaving
his office as he was appointed Commissioner of the Railroads for the State of
Wisconsin. He will be greatly missed as he was a friend of the Snowmobile and
ATV Club, and of recreation and tourism in Marinette County. Kevin mentioned
that there will be a ride from 8-HI on June 28th at 10:30 to (Help Stamp Out MS)
the entry fee is $50 and this will include a lunch. Kevin has all the info.
Under OLD business the trails cannot be worked on as our equipment is being
worked on as of this meeting we should be getting it back by the end of next
week. Pat went out on the trails and found some areas with water problems and he
attempted to fix those areas with the skidster the best he could. As soon as we
get our equipment back we will get back to trail maintenance. Regarding Metal-Plessis
we are in discussion with them as far as resolving the problem with the tracks
and it appears we will have to sue to get a resolution to the problem. This will
be done in conjunction with the other clubs who have a similar problem. The
“LUV” program is in effect for Marinette and Florence Counties and they can use
the ATV trails providing they obtain the proper stickers which cost $20. These
stickers are available at North Country Inn in Dunbar, 8-HI in Goodman and
Roadside Repair in Pembine. Pat would like some signage to indicate to the “LUV”
people that they have reached the end of the trails in some areas as all
counties are not participating in this program. Also some signage will be
necessary to indicate that these are ATV-LUV trails as they are not allowed on
the snowmobile only trails. Dave Schultz mentioned that we should look into
renewing our warranty equipment repair insurance as it can get very costly to
repair or replace some items.
We discussed our raffle tickets and would like to have a reward for the most
tickets sold by an individual and by a business. It was voted on and passed, it
would be dinner for 2 and a membership for 1 year. Tickets have been distributed
to businesses and individuals already.
Under New business, last month in place of our regular meeting we attended the
meeting at the Goodman Town Hall the topic of discussion was the opening of the
roads in the town to ATV’s And LUV’s. Pat Mullarky spoke to the board of the
importance of opening the roads in the town. He stated that is was good for the
businesses and the tourism dollars that are brought in. There will be a WATVA
regional meeting in Dunbar on July 26 our club is hosting the event. We are
hoping to make it a family event. It will run from 8A.M. until 6P.M. pat was
hoping to make it a three day affair , with rides on the trail and entertainment
for the kids, perhaps at 4 seasons resort. The Club is looking for volunteers to
help out at the CLUB SHED on July 26. In correspondence we received a donation
of $100 from the family of Frank Donai, a member who passed recently, he enjoyed
riding our trails for many years, this will be used to help maintain the trail
system. Dave said we need to look over the bridges on the system as some of them
need some minor repairs. We are looking into redoing our Trail Map and we will
be contacting the other clubs in the area as to combining the routes onto one
map to make it easier to go from one area to another. Pat would also like to put
up two rest areas on the trail system so people could take breaks, eat lunch and
enjoy the trail system. We also voted to get additional logo wear for the Club,
and also to include bandanas and “DOO” rags to the list of logo wear. Patti
Mullarky also mentioned she would be putting together a newsletter and if anyone
had anything they would like to add to contact her.
The meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is JUNE 17, 2008 at Trails End Saloon in Goodman at 7:00 P M.

Pat Mullarky called the March 18, 2008
meeting to order at Richards in Dunbar at 7:00PM. There were 17 members and 1
guest at the meeting.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
The Treasures’ report was read and was accepted.
Under New business we talked about our web-site and voted to
renew our contract and to introduce the new owner of Bear Necessities on the
website as a new owner, better attitude and hope to let people who were
discouraged by the past owners to come back to a fresh atmosphere. There were no
officer’s reports at this time. Dave Schultz reported on the County Alliance
meeting, the clubs had to apply for grants for projects they want done this
year. There is going to be a booklet put out on Building bridges for trails with
new specs on sizes and weight and guidelines to follow. They are also thinking
of having a uniform standard size for all trail markers. Patti Mullarky reported
on the Annual County Meeting saying that plows were not leaving enough snow on
the Highways for snowmobiles. The county supervisor says ATV’S are becoming the
future in our area because we have a very good trail system in this area. Pat
Mullarky would still like to get the younger people involved in snowmobile and
ATV’S clubs. He mentioned that we are not getting any younger but hopefully
snowmobiling and ATV’S will continue for a long time.
Under old business Pat Mullarky thanked all the groomers for
a great job this year. The trails will close April 1st 2008 because of the
spring thaw. The LUV update, so far the program is going ahead .They will have a
weight limit and will also have to have a dump box in the back. This program
will probably start when the trails open after the spring thaw. The price of the
sticker is not known yet. Patti Mullarky gave the AWSC convention report stating
it was very well attended. There were 714 adults and 33 children. It was held in
Wausau in Marathon county. We have a New President Bill Schumann and the Vice
Pres. is Doug Johnson, Treasurer is Natalie Sessler and the Secretary is Darlene
Krentz. The AWSC office is moving to Madison in May. If you were born in 1985
you must have completed a Safety Course and carry your card on you when
snowmobiling or ATVing or you will get a citation. We talked about the raffle
tickets and the board will meet and decide on where we will get the prizes from
as soon as all the bids come in. The people we had purchased our trial groomer
from for ATV’s trails have offered to do repairs and to upgrade the Nortec soil
processor so Rick Thompson is taking it down to Wausau to get the work done..
The Metal Plessis situation is being handled by the attorney from the AWSC. Sur-trac
is producing a four-track unit and they wanted to know if we would like to try
this out in a pilot program and could fit it to our tractor and let them know of
any problems we find as we are using it. They will work with us this summer and
winter and if it works well, we might buy the product.
The meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is APRIL 15, 2008 at Lake Hilbert Campground
in Goodman at 7:00 P M.

Pat Mullarky called the February 19, 2008 meeting to order at
8 HI-CLUB in Goodman at 7:00PM. There were 15 members at the meeting.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
The Treasures’ report was read and was accepted.
Under officers reports Orv Langohr , President of Lake States Resources Alliance
Inc. mentioned that there are elections taking place in the near future.
Elections can change the directions of goals for public lands. It is important
to get the facts, ask questions, their goals and will it be good for multiple
use. We need to work together. This information will also help our delegates
going to the AWSC Convention this month. They will be voting for a new
President, Vice-President and Treasurer.
Under old business the test pilot program for the “LUV’s” which is short for
Light Utility Vehicle will go into effect on May 1, 2008. Marinette and Florence
Counties are the only 2 Counties that will be involved in the pilot program. In
September of 2009 this program will be reviewed by the Counties to see if the
LUV’s will adapt to the ATV trails. Tony Ziebert gave a rundown on the status of
the “Metal Plesis” tracks as its parts are falling off all over. The club has
contacted the AWSC lawyers and they have stated we have a good chance of
resolving the issues with the company. Pat Mullarky, Dave Schultz and Rick
Thompson attended the groomer show in St. Germain and were excited about the new
technologies being used. Kevin Rocque said the brat-fry on Feb. 3rd went well,
plenty of workers showed up. This spring we will have to do some trail work, as
our signs are getting faded, bent over or missing in some areas.
Under new business Dave Schultz explained to us what happened at the Alliance
meeting, the new Wausaukee trail opened. They are working on a $35 trail pass
for Wisconsin. The AWSC March magazine will be delayed because of the convention
and election of new officers. It was mentioned about the large amount of
snowmobile deaths, but the deaths were located all over the state not in one
area. The AWSC is still working on getting youth involved with an adult in
charge. The 55 MPH speed limit at night seems to be working well. Our own
business people say it seems that the snowmobilers are doing most of their
riding during daylight hours and are parking at night. Pat mentioned that Mercer
was having an ATV ride for the handicapped May 29th thru June 1st if anyone
would like to volunteer contact the club. Next we went on to our raffle which
will be held on our CLUB FUN DAY Saturday September 28, 2008. We discussed the
prizes which consist of an ATV, Trailer, Gun, Hotel Stay and various other
prizes. In correspondence the Blue Ribbon Coalition had asked for a donation, it
was voted to send them $100.
The meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is March 18, 2008 at Richards Supper Club in Dunbar at 7:00 P
M.

Pat Mullarky called the January 15th 2008 meeting to order at
North Country Inn in Dunbar at 7:00PM. There were 17 members at the meeting.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
The Treasures’ report was read and was accepted.
Dave reported on our Tax status for 2004 and 2005 saying that they wanted to
collect interest on the taxes paid, but because of Dave and our accountant they
sent a letter and received a reply back stating that we owe a zero balance. We
THANK YOU DAVE SCHULTZ for a job well done on our tax exemption status.
Under old business Pat Mullarky ask about the trail work and
things are O.K. right now we are just waiting for more snow. The update on the
Sno-Tracs is that the unit was used from Pembine to Dunbar on the trail system.
When it was brought back to the shed it was checked over by Dave, Pat and Tony
and it was found that the cleats were bending up toward the outside and this was
not a good sign. Pat took the machine on the trail and more cleats bent. Pat
feels we have a real problem and feels we should follow up with a legal recourse
action perhaps through the AWSC. Pat had spoken to Orv Langohr who suggested we
contact the AWSC and get a legal opinion from their Lawyers regarding action to
be taken. Pictures and correspondence has been forwarded to the AWSC lawyers for
review. This was done after a motion on the floor to take this course of action
and passed unanimously. Pat asks if there was anyone who wanted to groom trails
or be on the schedule to talk to him. It was also brought up about the AWSC
Convention in Wausau on March 14, 15 and 16. If interested contact Pat Mullarky.
There is a WATVA Convention for ATV’s in Stevens Point on March 29 and 30. There
is also a Groomer Show in St. Germain on February 6 and 7, if interested in
going contact Pat Mullarky.
Under new business Dave Schultz told us what happened at the
Alliance meeting. They had asked if the bow hunting in January had hurt our
snowmobiling the response was no it did not affect us. The AWSC offices will be
moving to DeForest later this year sometime to be closer to Madison and the
legislators. We also will be having a new warden starting in February in
Wausaukee. He will be taking care of the area from Wausaukee to HWY 8. They also
discussed Corridor 7 and they still don’t know how the trail came to be on a
County Road, according to state laws a corridor cannot run on a Road, someone
had changed it on the map and no one knows who did it. Jeff Schwaller gave a
report on the AWSC District meeting which discussed the people who will be
running for office at the Convention, there are two candidates for President and
two candidates for Vice–President the office of Secretary will be the incumbent.
They also will be voting for Executive Director position. Jeff also mentioned
that there is a Canadian website
www.SLEDS2BUY.com that would like to be added to the AWSC website it seems
like it is an e-bay site to buy and sell sleds and parts. The AWSC is trying to
get youth involved and came up with a youth committee with an adult in charge.
In letters and correspondence Lake States sent us raffle tickets to purchase, if
we were to win we would be able to use them as prizes in our raffle. A motion
was made and seconded to purchase $100 worth as we had done in the past. Don’t
forget the BRAT FRY at 8-HI in Goodman on Feb. 2, 2008 and ORV’S ride on Feb.
14, 2008 starts at 8-HI Club in Goodman at 10:00 A.M.
The meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is February 19, 2008 at 8-HI in Goodman at

Pat Mullarky called the
December 18th 2007 meeting to order at Lake Hilbert Campground in Goodman at
7:00PM. There were 16 members at the meeting.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
The Treasures’ report was read and was accepted.
Under old business Lew Lambert mentioned that the trail by the Goodman area near
The White House, snowmobiliers should stay on the trail as best they can because
there is a lot of stumpage and brush cuttings under the snow. If people go off
the trail they could get stuck or even hurt so be careful. The Sno-Track update
is we still don’t have it. The machine is in Lena and suppose to be put on this
week at the shed. Pat Mullarky has been working very hard with Dale in getting
the Sno-Tracks back. Pat started working on putting together the schedule for
grooming. The people who want to be a groomer must be a club member and 25 years
old because of the insurance. The Nor-Tec has been repaired up at Grailer and
Charlie feels it is in very good condition and ready for spring. The Sure-Track
has been all updated and is ready for use on the trails.
Under new business Patti Mullarky reported that all the clubs were represented
at the alliance meeting. All the trails are open for snowmobiling. The sno
patrol report was given and they logged in 428 hours and 2900 miles and that was
giving out information, Maps and helping people on the trails, etc. The 55mph is
in effect for the next three years. The next alliance meeting is at Newingham's
Jan.7th,2008. Orv gave a report from Lake States. He mentioned that all the
trails have been opened since the first of December but some trails that are on
private property are closed because of Bow Hunting on their land. There wasn’t
any correspondence or Letters. It was brought up about what is going on with the
UTV’s and Dave said it will probably begin in April/May if all the stickers and
other paperwork is done by the county. One thing that was mentioned about UTV’s
is that they must have a dump box on them .Terry Wagner also mentioned he was
having a snowmobile safety class during the week between Christmas and New
years. It was also mentioned that there is a club ride on January 9th,2008 at
10:00 from North Country Inn The meeting was adjourned.
Our next meeting is January 15,2008 at North Country Inn in Dunbar. at 7:00 P M

Pat Mullarky called the November 6th 2007 meeting to order at
Richards Supper Club in Dunbar. There were 11 members at the meeting.
The secretaries’ report was read and was accepted.
There was no treasurers’ report as Dave Schultz was not at the meeting.
Under old business Pat Mullarky asked if there was an area in Goodman that might
have sand or gravel available for the trails. Pat also asked if when the
groomers went out on the trails if they noticed any areas that may need work
they should report where it is and what the problem might be. Kevin said the DNR
put stakes in by the highway where the trail is to be moved back, it involves
major work and should be taken care of next spring. Kevin also said they would
need some fill to level it off, and Lew said he had 2 or 3 loads of black dirt
in his yard that could be used. The update of the metal-plessis is unknown at
this time. Charlie Lex confirmed that the maintenance on the soil processor will
be taken care of by spring. There is a repair person coming to work with Charlie
on the Sur-Trac this week, they are attempting to attach the brusher and other
minor work. Patti Mullarky gave a report on the AWSC workshops in Stevens Point
last weekend. There were 600 adults and 101 kids at the workshops. Some of the
workshops were on trail signage, insurance, scholarships. They also voted for
the new Miss Snowflake, she lives close by and we could probably get her to come
to our club fun day next fall. They also had vintage snowmobiles that drew a lot
of attention. There will be a new groomer show in February in St. Germain.
Under new business Patti Mullarky reported that all the clubs were represented
at the alliance meeting. Marinette County has 495 miles of trail available to
snowmobiles and ATV’s. Again Patti said there was no show of interest for the
Alliance meeting for the ATVers which was held before the snowmobile alliance
meeting. The coleman area is working on putting in additional trails in their
area. The DOT would like to know all the areas where the trails and bridges
cross highways so they can put down the Hwy coating application when they are
doing work in that area. A lot of businesses and sponsors don’t want to be on
the trail maps this year. There are going to be new bridge dimensions coming out
this year. There are also new State Corridor Maps this year. Pat stated that he
was hoping we would have a lot of snow this winter and early so he could put
together a groomer schedule and Rick suggested that he put one together for the
summer also.
Our next meeting is a HOLIDAY PARTY at Lake Hilbert Campground in Goodman on
December 18th 2007 at 7:00 P M
