Petition for sustainable ATV Trail in the Northern Highlands

http://www.madison.com/archives/read.php?ref=/tct/2007/04/21/0704200322.php

Yes, folks, the Anti-ATV people are at it again. Or should I say "still?"

This is what we, the ATV Community, is up against. Much of it isn't true, and what is true is generally distorted by those who would shut down existing trails and stop any new trail development.

The ONLY way to stop the "anti's" is to have our membership get involved! NOTHING else will get the job done! And the Anti's have even included the contact list, right in the editorial! They've made it easy for us to act. Now it's OUR turn!

I've sent out similar e-mails to the WATVA affiliated clubs in the past few weeks. I honestly do not know if they are being forwarded to the club members. I DO know that at least one club, one I'm a member of, didn't get my messages forwarded--because I didn't get them back.

PLEASE forward this email to your club email list! If the Members choose not to take action and write a letter, so be it. But, PLEASE, let the MEMBERS decide if they want to respond. PLEASE forward this note to your membership so the MEMBERS can make an informed decision about becoming active in support of our trails. PLEASE do NOT make the decision for them!

thank you and regards

New Web Site for the Nicolet Forest

Hello. I want to alert you to a new web site posting onÖ_Ù Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest website. Because we have been getting lots of questions and an apparently increasing amount of illegal ATV use on the Nicolet land base, we have posted a reminder about the national forest ATV policies (different for the Chequamegon and Nicolet land bases).  Please take a look and feel free to pass along to any e-mail lists you may have.  We'd like the policy to be as well known as possible so that responsible ATV riders don't get themselves in a situation where they are riding illegally and don't know it.  The site also contains a link to the Wisconsin DNR's web site on ATV trails, regulations, registration, etc. We'll sure appreciate if you would share this with your networks.
