The Dun-Good ATV trails are groomed and checked on a regular (weekly) basis. Recent rainy weather caused some wet spots on the trails, but it's keeping the dust down! Trails are reported to be in excellent condition. The rain has made everything grow like crazy so it's very pretty in the woods right now. In places, with the trees growing overhead, it's like riding through a tunnel, bring your camera! Please ride with care as you might meet the groomer out working on the trails and it's big!
And a word to the wise-----PLEASE! Always stay on your side of the trail. Ride as if you WILL meet someone around every corner! Expect the unexpected!
We do have a couple of "Wilderness Loops" that offer a more rugged trail for those of you who enjoy that sort of thing! If you find some small brush on the trail, please toss it off to the side and report any trail problems to a club member or sponsor so we can correct the area.
Enjoy your trail ride with us, but please ride safe and respect the rules of the trail! Get a map, know where it's legal to ride. If you're not sure, ask!

DUN-GOOD RIDERS YEAR END REPORT FOR 2009 Submitted by Gale Ullman
Another busy and fruitful year came to a close for the Dun-Good Riders ATV & Snowmobile Club. An extension to the existing clubhouse/shop in Dunbar is finally coming to an end with lots of hard work by many of the local club members. The 40 by 60 foot heated and insulated addition will greatly improve the ability to work on the equipment in winter and thus allow the members to keep the grooming equipment in top working condition without having to deal with bad weather conditions.

The Dun-Good Riders extend our deepest sympathy to the Terry Wagner family. Terry passed away on Saturday April 10, 2010 following a battle with cancer. Terry and Mary owned and operated the Lake Hilbert Campground and I know that over the years they made many friends along the way. Terry was an active involved club member and a great supporter of outdoor recreation and the trail system. We will miss him very much.
The visitation will be on Thursday, April 15th from 4-7 pm with the funeral to follow at 7 pm at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home in Green Bay. The complete obituary can be seen at www.ironmountaindailynews.com |

The 12th Annual Dun-Good Riders Brat Fry at the 8-HI Club, Goodman, on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 was well attended by club members, trail riders and members of the community. Thank You to everyone for supporting this club fundraiser! A special thanks to Kevin Rocque for hosting the event each year. He puts it all together, arranges for the food and the helpers. Then he makes everyone feel right at home and gets us all involved in the raffles and the fun! Kevin is a very active and supportive member of the Dun-Good Riders. He currently serves as vice president and helps wherever he can. We're all looking forward to next year's Brat Fry ---- the first Saturday in February, 2011!
Plan to make Rocque's 8-HI one of your regular stops on the trail or by car. 8-HI is located on Highway 8 just east of Goodman and is trail accessible by sled or by ATV. In addition to great food & beverages, Kevin sells gasoline and convenience store items including oil, belts & plugs. Wednesday and Saturday feature "all you can eat" pizza from 5-9 PM. Real good pizza! Real close! Of course, fish frys are featured on Fridays. Food is served 7 days a week. 8-HI is open daily from 9 AM until ??? Phone 8-HI at 715-336-2372.
Thanks again Kevin for holding the annual Brat Fry to benefit the Dun-Good Riders! |

Internet ATV safety course now available |

MADISON – Operators of all terrain vehicles (ATV) now have a convenient online method to receive ATV Safety Certification through an Internet Web page introduced by the state Department of Natural Resources.
“This should prove very beneficial to young adult operators and out-of-state operators who need ATV Safety Certification," said Gary Eddy, DNR all-terrain vehicle administrator.
All operators at least age 12 and born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 must complete an ATV Safety Certification course in order to operate on public ATV trails and areas in Wisconsin.
“The internet course may not be for everyone. Parents will have to gauge whether an internet course is the best fit for their child. For some students, young and old, a classroom course with instructors and hands-on learning may be a better fit," said Eddy.
Both courses provide basic information on how to operate an ATV safely and responsibly, but they don't make you an expert rider.
The Internet course is available at [www.offroad-ed.com/wi]. Check the DNR’s Upcoming Recreational Safety Education Classes Web page to find classroom courses available around the state.

Students must continue to practice what they've learned in their ATV Safety Course and parents need to reinforce what has been taught."
